Regeln: Schwärzen Sie einige Felder des Diagramms [Papier] bzw. färben Sie die grauen Felder des Diagramms schwarz oder weiß [Applet]. Die schwarzen Felder zerlegen das Diagramm in Bereiche weißer Felder. Ein Feld mit einer Zahl ist immer weiß; zu jedem weißen Bereich gehört genau ein Feld mit einer Zahl. Die Zahl in gibt an, wie viele Felder den weißen Bereich bilden. Weiße Bereiche dürfen einander nicht orthogonal berühren (wohl aber diagonal). Die schwarzen Felder dürfen nirgendwo eine Fläche der Größe 2x2 überdecken. Alle schwarzen Felder müssen einen einzigen orthogonal zusammenhängenden Bereich bilden.

Rules: Blacken some cells of the diagram [paper] resp. color the gray cells of the diagram black or white [applet]. The black cells divide the diagram in areas of white cells. All cells with a number belong to a white area; to a white area belongs exactly one cell with a number. The number indicates how many cells belong to the white area. White areas may not touch each other orthogonally. The black cells must not cover an area of 2x2 cells or larger. All black sells must form an orthogonally continuous area.

Mochikoro kann man als Nurikabe-Variante auffassen; die Regeln sind sehr ähnlich.
